Men often arrive at fatherhood without a sense of positive masculinity. Our culture offers few signposts. Moments of identification with, and instruction from, older men have disappeared for many men.
The Hairy Midwife is a dialogue between new fathers on a journey, and older men further down the road. This is an ordeal, the difficult, emotional labor of looking deep within and recognizing what is expected of you, and what you are capable of, in your new role as father.
